The Academy of the Holy Cross


The Academy of the Holy Cross, sponsored by the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, has been in continuous operation in the Archdiocese of Washington since 1868 and has been at its present location since 1956. Holy Cross, a private Catholic college-preparatory school, is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and the Maryland State Department of Education.
 
In addition to classrooms, the Academy’s learning space includes science labs, art studios, preparation spaces, dark room, greenhouse, kiln room, and 400-seat theater and rehearsal rooms. Holy Cross is located on a 28-acre campus just off Rockville Pike, two miles north of the Capital Beltway (495) and a five-minute walk from the Grosvenor Metro Station.
