Senior Pictures

Blanton Studios has been contacting members of the Class of 2011 to schedule appointments for Senior Portraits. The studio has been sending postcards to rising Seniors throughout the summer and will continue to do so until everyone has been contacted. If you have not yet received an appointment notice from Blanton Studios, you can call them at 301-840-8044 at visit their website, http://blantonstudio.com.

 

 

 

Ordering Books

Follett Virtual Bookstores, our online book service, is accepting orders for AHC students as of Wednesday, July 21. Please visit their website, www.efollett.com. There is also a link on our website. If you have any questions or problems ordering books, please contact Sister Grace (301-929-6450).

 

There will be a second Used Book Sale, sponsored by the Home and School Association, on Wednesday, August 11 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. There are a limited number of books left over from the sale in May. This is a sale only – no books will be bought back at this time.

 

 

Class Schedules

If you have a problem or a concern about your schedule of classes for the first semester, please email Mrs. Wagaman (ewagaman@academyoftheholycross.org).  Mrs. Wagaman will also be available for schedule adjustments before school begins, on the following days:

 

Monday, August 9              11:30am – 1:00pm

Tuesday, August 10            11:30am – 1:00pm

Wednesday, August 18       11:30am – 1:00pm

 

 

 

Getting a Summer Job?

Any student, age 14 to 17, who will be employed in the state of Maryland this summer, will need a Maryland State Work Permit. Information about the process and the form can be found online at the Maryland State Department of Labor: http://www.dllr.state.md.us/labor/wages/empm.shtml

Part of the form must be filled out online and part must be printed out and completed by your employer. Please follow the instructions, listed on the website. When the form has been completed and signed by all parties, you must print out a receipt and bring the receipt AND the signed form to an issuing officer at the Academy who will review and sign the application. Please note – you must have accepted employment before applying for a permit.
