SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS - 2011

Camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The first day of each camp will begin with check-in at 8:30 a.m.

A typical camp day begins with check-in followed by warm-up.

The morning sessions are oriented toward skill development through individual and small group training. Campers have an hour break for lunch at 12:00 noon (campers bring their own lunch). Depending on the sport, the afternoon session stresses tactics through large group and team play.

that will expand understanding of their role and how to perform it well. Novices will be introduced to the sport of rowing and will develop sound fundamental techniques. Crew camp requires an additional fee. Please check the AHC website for more details.

Basketball Sessions 1 and 3 Grades 1-9

Our basketball sessions provide the opportunity for participants of any skill level to learn and practice the fundamentals of basketball (court awareness, dribbling, passing, rebounding, defense, footwork, and shooting techniques).

Lacrosse Session 3 Grades 1-9

Our summer lacrosse camp is quickly growing to be one of the most popular and demanded camps at Holy Cross. Lacrosse Campers will leave camp with better individual skills — from stick handling

to shooting to defending. Campers will also develop a greater understanding of team play, learning the concepts to help make their team better.

Field hockey Session 2 Grades 1-9

Our camp is designed to teach individual skill and team concept to both the beginner and experienced player. We incorporates the core components of field hockey and advanced skills. Stations, drills, and small games teach the following: ball control, passing & receiving, goal scoring, transfer & outletting, defense, positioning, and pressure.

Soccer Session 4 Grades 1-9

Soccer is one of our most popular sports at the Academy. During the season, AHC dresses a Varsity, JV, and Freshman team. We continue our enthusiasm for the sport during our summer camp session. Athletes will work on dribbling, passing, shooting, and even goal-tending for those who would like to try the goalie position! Come play the game and share your passion with us at Holy Cross!

Softball Session 3 Grades 1-9

The softball camp develops fielding skills, refines batting techniques, and increases physical condition during our drills and scrimmages.

Volleyball Session Sessions 2 and 4 Grades 1-9

Whether a novice or seasoned player, the volleyball camp gives participants the opportunity to truly develop skills. We will serve up the instruction and set up athletes to go for the spike!
