Summer Reading is not required for all courses.

French IV:

From the Tresors du Temps textbook:

·         Read and complete the exercises on pages 1-3: Un peu d’histoire

Answers must be typed and double spaced, and are due the first day of fall classes.

A.P. French:

Read the novel Bonjour Tristesse by Françoise Sagan.

Students must be prepared to discuss the novel and answer questions on first day of fall classes.

Spanish IV:

In the textbook Conexiones :

·      Read pages 43-45, reviewing the usage of the preterit and the imperfect. Using the guided instructions on page 45, write an original narrative in the past, using the preterit and the imperfect. This may NOT be anything you have written for another class. The narrative must consist of at least 3 well formed paragraphs, be typed and double spaced, and is to be handed in on the first day of classes.

Honors Spanish IV:

From the text book  Prosa moderna del mundo hispanico:

·      Read "Un Caso Inverosimil" pages 3-7 and write a brief summary of the story in your own words. Write your answers to the comprehension questions in Exercise II, pages 8-9.

This assignment must be written in Spanish, typed and double spaced, and is due the first week of fall classes.

A.P. Spanish:

From the textbook Encuentros Maravillosos, by Abby Kanter:

·     Read the following selections, and complete the comprehension questions that accompany each reading. Your responses must be written in Spanish, typed and double spaced, and turned in during the first week of classes.

             Page 4, "El Otro" by Borges

             Page 24, "Un perro ha muerto" by Neruda

             Pages 116-118, "La Peste del Insomnio" by Garcia Marquez
