Summer Reading is not required for all courses.
 
French IV and Honors French IV:

 

From the Tresors du Temps textbook:

 

·      Read and complete the exercises on pages 1-3: Un peu d’histoire

·      Read and complete the exercises on pages 6-9: La France ses provinces et ses departments.

 

Answers must be typed and double spaced, and are due the first day of fall classes.

 

A.P. French:

 

Read the novel Bonjour Tristesse by Françoise Sagan.

 

Students must be prepared to discuss the novel and answer questions on first day of fall classes.

 

A.P. Latin:

 

Required Reading : an English translation of the Aeneid (any translation is acceptable).

 

·      Read Books 1-3

 

There will be a test on this reading and an assigned paper given in the first week of fall classes. 

 

A.P. Spanish:

 

From the textbook Encuentros Maravillosos, by Abby Kanter:

 

·      Read the following selections, and complete the comprehension questions that accompany each reading. Your responses must be written in Spanish, typed and double spaced, and turned in during the first week of classes.

 

            Page 4, "El Otro" by Borges

            Page 24, "Un perro ha muerto" by Neruda

            Pages 116-118, "La Peste del Insomnio" by Garcia Marquez

 

Spanish IV:

 

From the textbook Momentos Hispanos :

 

·      Read "La Suerte de un Joven Honrado" pages 3-4, and write in Spanish a short summary of the story.

 

Honors Spanish IV:

 

From the text book  Prosa moderna del mundo hispanico:

 

·      Read "Un Caso Inverosimil" pages 3-7, and write your answers to the comprehension questions in Exercise II, pages 8-9.

 

This assignment must be written in Spanish, typed and double spaced, and is due the first week of fall classes.
