Note:  All math students except A.P. and Statistics students are required to complete a math packet. The link to the math packet can be found at the bottom of this page. The packet is due on the first class meeting of the school year. The teacher determines the amount of credit given.

 

A.P. Calculus AB:

 

Each student must complete the following work from the Calculus textbook: (3rd edition Finney, Demana, Waits, Kennedy - Calculus)

 

Review Exercises Chapter 1, p. 56

#1–13 odd, 18, 25, 27–37 odd, 39, 41, 60

 

All work must be shown. This assignment is due the first class meeting. The teacher will determine the amount of credit given.

 

A.P. Calculus BC:

Each student must complete the following work from the Statistics textbook. All work must be shown. This assignment is due the first class meeting. The teacher will determine the amount of credit given.

 

Read Chapter 1: Stats starts Here pp.2-6

 

Read Chapter 2: Data pp. 7-16

Complete Exercises p.16: 3 - Identify W's, variables, types.

 

Read Chapter 3: Displaying and Describing Categorical Data pp. 20-35

Complete Exercises pp.36-38: 1, 9, 11, 14 - Frequency tables, bar chart, pie chart, tables,   segmented bar charts, marginal and conditional distributions.

 

Read Chapter 4: Displaying Quantitative Data pp.45-64

Complete Exercises pp.68-71: 26 & 28, 37 - Histograms, stem and leaf display, dotplot, (shape, outliers, center, spread), W's, timeplot.

 

Read Chapter 5: Describing Distributions Numerically pp.73-90

Complete Exercises pp. 91-98: 8, s36, 40 - center, median, spread, range, quartile, IQR, percentile, 5-number summary, boxplot, mean, variance, standard deviation.
