Discover Engineering!

On Saturday, April 26, 2008 from 8:30 am to 12 pm, the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) student chapter at the University of Maryland will be hosting Discover Engineering, an event for high school students interested in engineering, math, and the sciences. Participants in this event will be able to talk to college engineering students, meet a professional engineer, and be involved in a team engineering-related activity. There is no cost to participants, and a free breakfast and lunch will be provided, but you must register by Wednesday, April 16th.. Parents are welcome to attend this event as well.  Students may also download a registration form from our website at http://www.eng.umd.edu/SWE/programs.htm, which can be filled out and emailed to us at ewhyms@umd.edu. There is also a sample schedule posted on the website. Students who register will receive more information as the event approaches.   If you have further questions, see your counselor.

AP Students:

All students taking AP exams MUST attend one pre-administration session. The purpose of the pre-administration session is to fill out preliminary information on your test answer sheets prior to your testing days. You only need to attend one session, which will last about 25 minutes. It will save you a substantial amount of time on testing days, particularly if you are taking more than one AP exam. Pre-administration sessions will be held in the Auditorium on Friday, April 11 and Monday, April 14 during both lunches. If you have any questions, please see Ms. McDonald.
