Visit: Tartan for a Day

Header Image

The best way to learn about Holy Cross is to experience it first-hand! Eighth grade students are invited to become “Tartans for a Day,” spending an entire school day with a current Holy Cross freshman. Visitors will go to classes, learn more about student life, sample the food in our café, and meet the Admissions staff.

Beginning in August, eighth grade students may register for a visit day.

Frequently asked questions

Can I request a specific host?

Of course! Please mention the name of a current Holy Cross freshman or sophomore when you register. We will make every effort to accommodate your request.

What time should I arrive?

All visitors should arrive at 7:40 am at our main entrance (#1). When you arrive on campus, ask your parents to stay to the right as they approach the carpool line and make a right into the faculty/staff parking lot. You may park in any available parking space. A member of the Admissions team will meet you in the lobby.

What should I wear?

Students are more than welcome to wear their school uniform if they have one. Otherwise, we ask that students dress nicely. Please no jeans, sweatpants or flip flops.

Should I bring a lunch?

You will be our guest for lunch in the Student Commons cafeteria. You will eat with your hostess and her friends.

What time should I be picked up?

Visiting students should be picked up at 2:00 pm at the main entrance (#1). If a student will be going home with anyone other than her parent/guardian or will be taking the Metro, please notify the Office of Admissions in writing.
