Regulations and Policies

Class Attendance:

Class attendance is mandatory. Absences must be limited to reasons of illness or serious emergency and must be excused by the school administrators. Tardiness will not be tolerated. All students are required to attend classes. In the event that a student does not comply with the school’s attendance policy, that student may be removed from the current production and prohibited from participating in any department productions, clubs, or other events.

Extra Curricular Activities:

Students are allowed to participate in any other extra curricular activities outside of the Department of Performing Arts, providing that the schedules do not conflict. In the event of a conflict, the student must make a choice as to which activity they shall participate. If the student chooses an outside of department activity over a Department of Performing Arts activity, this will have no impact on future participation and the student is eligible to participate in the next opportunity. However, if the student is currently active in a department project and then chooses to withdraw his/her participation before the completion of that current project, that student will go on probation in the department. If a student goes on probation, she is ineligible to participate in the following Performing Arts production.

Facility Use Policy:

All student projects and their location must be submitted in writing for pre-approval to Ms. Ramacci two weeks in advance.

Food and Beverage Policy:

There is to be no food or drink allowed in the theatre spaces other than for the use in production work. The only exception to this policy is special approval by the director that in no way violates the established rules of the theatre.

The Use of Weapons:

The use of actual weapons (guns, sharp knives, etc.) is prohibited in class or production work. Any item that is questionable must be pre-approved by the teacher or director.

Attendance at Rehearsals:

All rehearsals are closed rehearsals. No students, friends, or family members will be allowed to attend rehearsals without special permission from the director.

Attendance on Performance Days:

Class attendance on all performance days is required for the entire school day. Failure to attend all class and advisory periods will result in the student’s removal from that evening’s performance.
