Volleyball defeated Elizabeth Seton, Good Counsel, and the returning MD 4A State Champion Broadneck HS from Annapolis to continue their strong middle stretch of the season and improve to 14-2 on the year. They will host Jackson-Reed from Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, Oct. 7 in a "White-Out" theme at Holy Cross. Volleyball T-shirts will also be on sale for $10.00. The team will also travel to Bishop Ireton on Oct. 9.

The Cross Country team raced Saturday at the Octoberfest Invitational event in The Plains VA, in a tough test with teams from over 40 different schools. The athletes raced to twelve new personal records and nine new season best times, defeating schools like Paul VI and Bishop O'Connell in tough weather and course conditions! This was overall an outstanding performance with two new athletes racing with the Varsity division; Leah Ngyuen '29 once again leading the JV race, Eva Ruesch '27 and Charlotte Christakis '27 winning medals in the JV upper class division. The XC team is off this weekend and will compete next in the VA Showcase in Richmond, VA on Oct. 17.

Varsity Soccer tied Brookewood School and lost a close match on Senior Night yesterday to The Bullis School. Prior to the match, we honored our Soccer seniors: Erin D., Megan F., Yassin S. and Blythe B. The Varsity and JV teams will travel to St. John's (D.C.) this Thursday, Oct. 8 for conference matches.

The Equestrian Team will have their first show of the year this Sunday, Oct. 11 at Morningside Stables in Laurel, MD. Good luck to them!

Field Hockey had a very close match with Holy Child with incredible effort and intensity from the entire team. They will start a big week today by hosting Brookewood School at 3:45 p.m. on the Turf, and hosting Indian Creek on Friday, Oct. 9 at 4:00 p.m.

The Tennis team continues to improve with close conference matches versus Bishop Ireton and O'Connell last week. They will travel to face St. Andrews Episcopal this Thursday, Oct. 8 for a non-conference match at nearby Hoover Middle School.

A few reminders and information regarding game days in our new St. Angela Athletic and Wellness Center:

The back hallways and locker room areas are off limits to all spectators, parents and guests - except for the home and visitor student-athletes, coaches and officials participating. Many thanks for throwing away trash and keeping food and drink in the lobby area only.

On campus: please continue to park only in actual parking spaces and not on the streets or curbs, and be mindful of the correct, clockwise flow of traffic on campus. For athletic events, ample parking is available in the visitor/student lots after school and we have added a "walker lane" from the student/visitor lots to safely navigate the brief walk to our indoor or outdoor athletic facilities. Thank you for your attention and partnership.

Go Tartans!
