AHC Students Gain Real-World Experience Through Senior Internship Program

As they prepare to step into the next chapter of their academic journeys, seniors at The Academy of the Holy Cross have recently completed their Senior Internship Program, an immersive capstone experience that places students in real-world internships across diverse industries. These hands-on opportunities are designed to help students explore career interests, build professional skills, and gain valuable insight before heading off to college.

This year’s projects reflected the passion, ambition, and creativity of our students. Here’s a closer look at five inspiring Tartans and their unique internships with the student body during an all-school assembly presentation, followed by a panel session in which they answered questions from their peers:

Eliza D’Albora – True Sports Physical Therapy

With a deep interest in physical therapy and sports medicine, Eliza spent her internship at True Sports Physical Therapy, where she explored advanced rehabilitation techniques and technologies. From observing MACI surgeries and managing stress fracture recoveries to working with tools like BFR (Blood Flow Restriction), E-STIM, and TINDEQ, Eliza gained insight into the complexity and rewards of helping athletes return to peak performance.

Meredith Nelson - Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP

Meredith stepped into the world of law at the global law firm Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP, securing her internship through determination and strong connections, including a reconnection with alumnae parent Alice Hrdy P'16 and P'19. Meredith came away with valuable insights into the legal profession—and a greater confidence in her ability to thrive in new environments. Her experience taught her that life is often unexpected and non-linear, but with resilience, things have a way of working out.

Isabella Thompson – Curiosity Stream

Isabella’s love for storytelling and informative media led her to Curiosity Stream, a global factual media company. She worked with the Content and Social Media team on a variety of creative projects, including “On This Day” historical posts and the development of “Curiosity University.” Her experience taught her the value of meaningful media and the importance of stepping outside her comfort zone to grow.

Emily Dukes – Kenwood Animal Hospital, Inc.

A lifelong animal lover, Emily took her compassion to Kenwood Animal Hospital, where she supported daily operations, assisted in surgeries, and encountered the highs and challenges of veterinary medicine, including treating aggressive animals and managing treatment costs. Emily’s hands-on experience reaffirmed her desire to pursue a career centered around animal care, learning from Medical Director and alumna Cathleen Ciampa ’01

Lauren Tyler – Sony Pictures

At Sony Pictures in Los Angeles, Lauren immersed herself in the entertainment industry through a variety of dynamic experiences. From learning about responsible sourcing and ethical production to networking with professionals and participating in events like the Disability Film Challenge, Lauren saw firsthand the impact of media on society. A highlight of her internship included attending a Beyoncé concert as part of her internship—an unforgettable moment that capped off a truly transformative experience.

Each of these internships offered more than just professional experience—they empowered our Tartans to explore their interests, connect with mentors, and build the confidence they’ll carry into college and beyond. See pictures of the LOTAs at their internships below!
