Holy Cross Celebrates National Signing Day for Student-Athletes

During a special assembly on Wednesday, November 13, as part of Tartan Time, five athletes from the Class of 2025 officially committed to continuing their athletic careers at the collegiate level. Sarah Jeremias, Rowan Johnson, Natalie Ionata, Julia Luksic, and Bailey Terry were celebrated during this year's Holy Cross Signing Day. Each athlete was honored as they walked up to the stage in the auditorium, accompanied by their family members, to sign their commitment letters to their future colleges.

During a special assembly on Wednesday, November 13, as part of Tartan Time, five athletes from the Class of 2025 officially committed to continuing their athletic careers at the collegiate level. Sarah Jeremias, Rowan Johnson, Natalie Ionata, Julia Luksic, and Bailey Terry were celebrated during this year's Holy Cross Signing Day. Each athlete was honored as they walked up to the stage in the auditorium, accompanied by their family members, to sign their commitment letters to their future colleges. 

“These student-athletes are in elite company and play a huge role in furthering our tradition at Holy Cross, as well as laying the foundation for future Tartan student-athletes that will continue their athletic careers in college and beyond,” said Kelly Flaherty, Director of Athletics.

Natalie Ionata ’25 will play lacrosse at Ohio Northern University, where she will study environmental and field biology. Natalie has been a key player on both the JV and Varsity lacrosse teams. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has been recognized as a Sancta Crux and Madaleva Scholar. Additionally, she serves as the Booster Club captain.

Sarah Jeremias ’25 will play Volleyball at Trinity College, where she will study neuroscience and biochemistry. Sarah has been a standout player on both the JV and Varsity teams throughout her high school career. She won the WCAC Volleyball Championship in 2023, was named Holy Cross MVP this season, and earned a spot on the All-WCAC First Team.

Rowan Johnson ’25 will play Volleyball at the University of Akron, where she will study athletic training. Rowan, now captain of the AHC team, has been an integral part of the Varsity volleyball program throughout her high school career. She was part of the team that won the WCAC Volleyball Championship in 2023. This season, Rowan was named Holy Cross MVP and earned a place on the All-WCAC First Team. She was also recognized as a member of the All-Tournament Team at the Battle of Bethesda and is ranked the #6 middle hitter in the DMV.

Julia Luksic ’25 is committed to compete in Track and Field at Denison University, where she will study psychology. Julia has excelled in both JV and Varsity Track throwing events over the past three years. She was a WCAC finalist in shot put in both 2023 and 2024, earning a silver medal in 2024. Julia is a member of the National Honor Society and is actively involved as a peer minister.

Bailey Terry ’25 will play lacrosse at Shepherd University, where she will study nursing. Bailey has been a standout on the Varsity Lacrosse team since her freshman year. She is a member of the Science National Honor Society and is actively involved as a peer minister. Bailey also serves as the president of the Healthcare Club at the school.
