Madrigals Perform in Cathedral High School Choir Festival

The Holy Cross Madrigal ensemble participated in the Cathedral Choral Society’s DC High School Choir Festival

On Wednesday, January 29, the Holy Cross Madrigal ensemble participated in the Cathedral Choral Society’s DC High School Choir Festival at the Washington National Cathedral. The day was spent in, vocal workshops, sound checks, and rehearsing with the guest conductor, Dr. Stephen Fox, and the orchestra Each choir performed a piece on its own. The Madrigals joined with St. Anselm's Abbey school to perform "Everybody Says Don't" by Stephen Sondheim. The entire festival—over 300 singers–combined at the end of everyone's individual songs to perform three pieces: Mozart's "Lacrimosa," Tye's "Laudate Nomen Domini," and Thomas Dorsey's "Precious Lord."
