Rhamat Alhassan ’14 Signs with Grand Rapids Rise
AHC

The Academy of the Holy Cross alumna Rhamat Alhassan ’14 recently signed with the Grand Rapids Rise of Major League Volleyball (MLV), the longest-standing professional women’s volleyball league in the United States.

Rhamat’s journey to professional volleyball began at Holy Cross, where she quickly made her mark as a standout player on the Tartan's volleyball team. Her exceptional skill and passion for the game earned her recognition that extended well beyond Kensington, MD.

Continuing her career at the University of Florida, Rhamat became one of the most decorated players in program history. She earned multiple All-America honors, broke records, and competed with the United States National Team, solidifying her reputation as one of the nation’s top volleyball players.

In the spring of 2024, Rhamat’s accomplishments and lasting impact were honored with her induction into The Academy of the Holy Cross Athletic Hall of Fame.

Now, as she joins the Grand Rapids Rise, Rhamat inspires past, present, and future Tartans. We are proud to celebrate her achievements and look forward to watching her success in Major League Volleyball. Congratulations, Rhamat—you continue to make Holy Cross proud!
