College Counseling

The right fit and the best school for your future.
Holy Cross girls attend top colleges and universities in the nation and around the world. The goal of the College Counseling program is to help each girl find her right fit for life after Holy Cross. Our college counseling staff works intensively with each girl and her family beginning in December of the junior year, meeting as often as she wants to ensure she experiences a successful college admission process. With each student, our college counselors offer enthusiasm and individual attention, giving as much assistance as each girl needs. They write individual recommendation letters for each student—and these aren’t form letters. No, they truly get to know each girl’s best qualities, her aspirations, her dreams, and most importantly, how to communicate them to a college representative.
Holy Cross college counselors visit dozens of college campuses around the globe every year and maintain relationships with college admission representatives. Because of these connections, college admission representatives value and trust our counselors’ recommendations. As a result of these relationships, Holy Cross welcomes approximately 150 colleges to campus in the fall each year. Our girls are able to explore opportunities and gather firsthand information from the admission officers.
At Holy Cross, our college counseling philosophy inspires each girl to pursue admission to the college that provides the best fit for her unique intellectual abilities, passions, talents, and personal values.
Holy Cross uses Naviance, a comprehensive college and career readiness website, beginning in our students' freshman year as a way to explore academic and career interests and post-secondary options.
Every summer, rising seniors are encouraged to participate in “Application Academy” at Holy Cross, a multi-day workshop where our girls meet one-on-one with college admission representatives, practice their interview skills, and polish their resumes. Application Academy gives our girls a head start on the application process and removes stress from their busy senior year.
The Class of 2021 earned over $17 million in college scholarship awards.
Holy Cross sends out a monthly scholarship newsletter with information on outside funding sources for college tuition.
