School Counseling

The Academy of the Holy Cross Counseling Department supports the growth and development of our girls through the many transitions of adolescence. This is achieved through comprehensive, developmental, individual and group programs and opportunities that address the academic, personal, social, emotional and career development needs of our girls.
In partnership with students, teachers, administrators, and parents/guardians, counselors work to create a safe and open environment where students learn to be effective problem solvers, responsible decision-makers, and critical thinkers. Our goal is to foster academic and social independence and self-expression through encouragement and support so each girl is empowered to embrace her next challenge after high school with open arms. The counselors work closely with our college counselors to provide a seamless transition as the girls begin their college process in junior year.
Girls are welcome to drop by on their own, or in groups, or they can make an appointment with the counselors. The counselors provide support and guidance to parents/guardians as well and are available for individual consultations at their request.
The Holy Cross Counseling Department follows the confidentiality standards of practice adopted by the American School Counselor Association, Ethical Standards of Practice.
Additional information for girls and parents/guardians is available on the portal.
