From cutting-edge STEM pathways to dual enrollment opportunities with Marymount University and a comprehensive Senior Internship program, we empower students to excel in both academics and real-world experience.

Project Lead the Way

Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is a nationally recognized STEM program offering hands-on learning in engineering, biomedical science, and computer science. The Academy of the Holy Cross is the only all-girls school in Maryland to offer PLTW, empowering students to build confidence, think critically, and lead in STEM fields.

STEM Focus

STEM at Holy Cross creates a powerful environment where young women are encouraged to lead, innovate, and excel in science, technology, engineering, and math. Free from gender stereotypes, our students take risks, ask bold questions, and explore cutting-edge fields with confidence. They don’t just participate in STEM; they drive it forward, supported by strong female role models and a community that believes in their potential.

Girls’ school grads are 6X more likely to consider majoring in STEM subjects, compared to girls who attend coed schools."

Marymount

Partnership

Students listening to teacher at table

Holy Cross juniors and seniors can earn college credit through our partnership with Marymount University. We offer five dual-credit courses taught by our faculty, who are also Marymount adjuncts. Credits may transfer to other universities. Additionally, students can enroll in any Marymount introductory course starting the summer before senior year, with access to campus resources as well.

Senior

Internship

For over 50 years, every Holy Cross senior has completed a 60-hour off-site internship, gaining real-world experience in a potential career. Students connect academics to professional life, with recent internships at places like The Washington Post, NASA, ATF, and NIH.
