Scholarship opportunities for incoming freshmen.
To be considered please indicate your intent to apply on the admission application.
Scholarship recipients will be notified of their award by mail in February 2025.
Merit Scholarships
Sancta Crux Scholarship
$20,000 (over 4 years)
The Academy of the Holy Cross invites qualified incoming freshmen with outstanding academic achievement and potential in the Humanities (English, History, and World Languages) to apply for the Sancta Crux scholarship. Scholarship recipients are also automatically enrolled in the Holy Cross Scholars program.
Sancta Crux Criteria
- Academic performance in 7th and 8th grade
- High School Placement Test (HSPT) scores
- Scholarship Essay Submission; due Monday, January 6, 2025
Gillespie STEM Scholarship
$20,000 (over 4 years)
The Academy of the Holy Cross invites qualified incoming freshmen who have
demonstrated an aptitude for science and math to apply for the Gillespie STEM Scholarship. Scholarship recipients are also automatically enrolled in the Holy Cross Scholars program.
Gillespie STEM Criteria
- Academic performance in 7th and 8th grades, with a focus on math and science
- Successful completion of Algebra I
- High School Placement Test (HSPT) scores
- Scholarship Essay Submission; due Monday, January 6, 2025
Fine Arts Scholarships
$10,000 (over 4 years)
Performing Arts Criteria
All incoming freshmen may submit a video audition for one of the disciplines below.
- Dance - One piece, in any style, of no more than two minutes. Wear appropriate dance attire and footwear.
- Theatre - Two contrasting monologues (comedic/dramatic) no more than one minute each. Must be memorized.
-OR- One monologue (no more than one minute), and one excerpt of a music theatre song (no more than one minute). Both must be memorized.
- Vocal Music - Prepared vocal audition piece no more than two minutes in length, either solo or accompanied.
Visual Arts Criteria
Visual Arts candidates must submit a digital portfolio of 4-5 pieces of artwork. Preferably the selections should be created from at least two different mediums, (for example: acrylic, watercolor, pencil, charcoal, clay, mixed media, sculpture, etc.).
