What is the annual tuition at The Academy of the Holy Cross?
For the school year 2026-2027, the annual tuition is $35,402. The tuition for 2026-2027 has not been approved yet, but over the past 5 years, tuition has increased on average by less than 4% a year.
How do I pay my tuition?
The Business Office will set up your enrollment contract and Blackabaud Tuition Management account, which will allow you to either pay through direct debit or a credit card. You may pay your tuition once a year, semi-annually, or monthly. Unless you opt to pay in full by July 1, you will be required to purchase Tuition Refund Insurance.
Will a deposit be required?
For New Students: Yes, a nonrefundable $1,200 deposit is required with the submission of your tuition contract. $1,000 of the deposit is deduced from the tuition due, and $200 goes towards the one-time registration fee.
For Returning Students: Yes, a nonrefundable $500 deposit is required with the submission of your tuition contract. The entire deposit is deduced from the tuition due.
Are there any mandatory fees?
Yes. The Technology Fee is $420, and the Home and School Fee is $100. Both of these fees are added to the tuition due for the year and paid through the tuition payment plan.
Financial Aid
Who is eligible for financial aid?
Any family may apply for financial aid at Holy Cross. Financial aid is awarded based on need. It is applied directly to the student’s account, and there is no need to repay it.
How much financial aid is awarded?
The amount of the award is based on each family’s individual financial need as determined by their FACTS Grant & Aid financial aid application.

Does my family have to apply every year?
Yes, a new FACTS Grant & Aid application must be filed for every year that you apply for financial aid.
Are there any school scholarships available?
Yes! To be considered for a scholarship, 9th grade applicants must indicate their intent to apply for a scholarship award on the admission application. Scholarship submission details will be sent in December of each year to 9th grade applicants who indicated their scholarship interest on the admission application. Please reach out to the Admission Office with questions.
Are there any other outside sources for Financial Aid?
There are several additional funding opportunities available for families who demonstrate financial need. One key resource is the Archdiocese of Washington Tuition Assistance Program, which includes the Fitzgerald Program and provides need-based support to eligible students attending Catholic schools.

How will I be notified about the School’s decision on my Financial Aid application?
Financial Aid decisions are communicated in a coordinated way with admissions decisions for new students. Families will receive both the admissions outcome and any financial aid or scholarship award at the same time.
Once decision notifications are released, the financial aid award will appear directly within the Blackbaud Enrollment Management online contract, accessed through the secure link provided in the official decision-day email. This is where families can review the award alongside enrollment steps and next actions.
