Girl power.
Run until you can’t feel your legs—and then keep going. Spike it through the floor. Smash a forehand down the line. Turn a single into a double. Net the game-winner. Drop time on your butterfly. Sink a pressure putt. Take a charge. Make the save. Play. Like a girl.
Go Tartans!
On 28 athletic teams across 17 sports, our Tartans compete against the best talent in the region—and they win. Volleyball holds six straight conference championships. Our ice hockey team won the 2016 championship at the Verizon Center, home of the Washington Capitals. And the lacrosse program has been ranked as high as 4th nationally by Lacrosse Magazine. Thanks to our premier athletic fields, top competition and enthusiastic coaches, Tartan alumnae excel in collegiate sports—from national powerhouses like Maryland, Michigan, Florida and UCLA to smaller Division III programs around the country.
Holy Cross Tartans hold themselves to a high standard in competition—both in effort and character. Coaches, players and athletic directors at competitor schools repeatedly mention our girls’ class and sportsmanship toward the opposition. But that doesn’t mean they don’t win.
Our synthetic, all-weather turf field opened in 2015, providing our girls the opportunity to compete on college-level facilities.
