Students attending an Archdiocese of Washington School 

✓  List The Academy of the Holy Cross as one of your choices when completing the Catholic High School Student Information Form. 

✓  Your school will automatically send over your academic transcript and recommendations to Holy Cross.

Students NOT Attending an Archdiocese of Washington School 

✓  Transcript Request for 7th & 8th grade.

✓  Two (2) Letters of Recommendations from your (1) English/ Language Arts & (1) Math teacher. (These forms can be sent directly to your teachers using the application portal)

✓  School records must be submitted to the Admissions Office via the online portal or email to admissions@academyoftheholycross.org by Monday, January 8, 2024.

Standardized Test Scores

After careful consideration, The Academy of the Holy Cross will not require the submission of standardized test scores. Applicants are welcome to submit standardized test scores they may have taken within the last calendar year, such as the High School Placement Test (HSPT). 
Submitted scores will be added to the admissions file. Applicants who choose not to submit scores will not be penalized. It is the preference of the applicant and her family. 

Although not required, the HSPT will be administered at Holy Cross in December 2023. Registration will become available at www.adw.org beginning Monday, October 2, 2023.

Scholarship notification

For those applicants interested in the Sancta Crux Scholarship or Gillespie STEM Scholarship, Pursuit of Scholarship submissions are due Monday, January 8, 2024.

Decision notification

Admissions decision notifications of completed applications are mailed on Thursday, February 22, 2024 and emailed on Friday, February 23, 2024. 

Saint Mary's Resource Program (SMRP) Admissions Checklist

In order to apply for SMRP

✓ Complete online application via admissions portal, by Friday, December 8, 2023.

✓ Submit student's comprehensive psychoeducational or neuropsychological assessment that has been completed within the past three (3) years.

• This evaluation must include the following:
  • A diagnosis of learning difference
  • A cognitive assessment
  • An academic achievement test
  • Summary and recommendations

✓ Submit additional documentation such as an IEP, 504, or Accommodation Plan.

Decision notification

Admissions decision notifications of completed applications are mailed on Thursday, February 22, 2024 and emailed on Friday, February 23, 2024.

If documentation for the SMRP Program (including a recent psychoeducational or neuropsychological evaluation) is submitted after the time of acceptance and enrollment, review and a decision on this program will not be made until the second semester of your entry year.

Transfer admissions will be considered on a rolling Admissions basis and do not adhere to the same timeline as 9th grade admissions. Contact the Office of Admissions to inquire about transfer availability.
