Apply to Holy Cross
"Girl power to me means being brave enough to take that first step and to speak out and be yourself." -Katherine McNamara
The Holy Cross Admissions office is ready to help you at any step in the application process. If you have any questions along the way, don't hesitate to ask.
We are continuing to accept application for the 2021-2022 school year beyond the December 11, 2020 due date.
The Academy of the Holy Cross is piloting a High School Placement Test (HSPT) test-optional initiative for students applying during the 2020-2021 school year due to the challenges presented by COVID-19. 9th grade applicants to Holy Cross may choose to:
Take the HSPT but not select Holy Cross to receive the scores (this is still a qualified applicant)
Take the HSPT and select Holy Cross to receive the scores (this is still a qualified applicant)
Not take the HSPT (this is still a qualified applicant)
All 9th grade applicants to Holy Cross must still:
Submit an admission application and pay the application fee
Authorize their Archdiocesan elementary school to release records to Holy Cross. For students not enrolled in an Archdiocesan elementary school, applicants must still request recommendations and report cards to be sent to Holy Cross.
Additional considerations for qualification for the Sancta Crux scholarship program are being evaluated by the Holy Cross admission committee. All applicants who are interested in the Sancta Crux Scholarship program, including those who submit HSPT scores, will be asked to participate in an additional evaluation such as a recorded or live interview.
This initiative is specific to The Academy of the Holy Cross and does not represent policies of other Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of Washington that require the HSPT or other admission testing.
The Academy of the Holy Cross will still serve as a testing location for the HSPT administration in December 2020.
For students currently enrolled in Catholic elementary schools who choose to take the HSPT and send scores to the Academy, the HSPT will be administered at your school.
For students NOT currently enrolled in Catholic elementary schools who choose to take the HSPT and send scores to the Academy, please register to take the HSPT in December. You may register, starting in October, with the Archdiocese of Washington Catholic Schools Office. Learn more online here.
