Visit from Laudato Si’ Program Coordinator Helps Students Consider Their Global Impact

On Tuesday, September 20, Katie Yohe, Program Coordinator of the Laudato Si' Program for the Sisters of the Holy Cross visited Holy Cross to present to the Board of Trustees. While here she visited our freshman Theology classes and had lunch with the Environmental Sustainability class. She also brought Sister Taposi, CSC from Bangladesh to share her experience.

Laudato Si’ calls all of humanity to come together to help heal our common home by acting on seven important goals. These seven goals are giving congregations, like the Sisters of the Holy Cross, common language and focus so that all work strategically toward the universal objective of integral ecology—acknowledging the interconnection of the cry of the Earth and the cry of the poor. Yohe has already helped facilitate the initial assessment required by the Laudato Si’ platform and is coordinating educational workshops for the sisters and key dialogues among their justice teams.
