School Counseling
Even as kids reach adolescence, they need more than ever for us to watch over them. Adolescence is not about letting go. It's about hanging on during a very bumpy ride.
Ron Taffel
Don't worry that your children never listen to you; worry that they are always watching you.

How Your Daughter Can See Us
Students are welcome to drop by before school, during Tartan Time, a study hall, during lunch or after school. They can also email us if you’d rather set a special time that works best for them. If students experience a crisis during instruction time, the can let their teacher know and they will be released to see their School Counselor.
The Role of Self-Advocacy
A Holy Cross education entails each student growing in confidence in the classroom and in life. We encourage your daughter to self-advocate with her teachers should she have any concerns about a class or material covered. She is welcome to see her counselor to discuss or role-play how to approach her teacher or discuss any concerns she may have. If concerns remain after your daughter meets with her teacher and counselor, you should feel free to contact the teacher on your daughter's behalf.
Personal Issues That May Impact Your Daughter's Success
The counselor's job is to assist your daughter in reaching her potential here at Holy Cross. If there is any personal issue that may be affecting her academic performance or sense of well-being (i.e., family illness, impending divorce, concerns about friends, physical or mental health issue, etc.), please contact her counselor
Returning Calls and Email Messages
The counselors make every effort to return phone calls and email messages within a day of receipt. It is our goal to answer every contact within 48 hours.
It's not only children who grow, parents do too. As much as we watch to see what our children do with their lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours. I can't tell my children to reach for the sun. All I can do is reach for it myself.
